This page has a short Biography about the staff at Rochford Archery |
Annette Salmons: first started archery back in 2000 with Southend & District AC, Essex. She quickly gained 2nd Class in recurve by the end of her first winter season. She then had a major operation on her right foot which took her out of the sport for about 3 years. When she returned to the sport she came back with her longbow and by then end of the summer season of 2008 she was a 1st class archer with both the longbow and recurve in target archery. There was a foray into field archery and roving marks, and in 2009 she was one of the 200 strong contingent who marched through the streets of London with her longbow and arrows in quiver. This spectacle had not been seen since the time of King Henry VIII. During 2007-08 Annette founded and funded two projects the first one being a successful archery club in Rochford and then later that same year founded Rochford Archery Ltd. Whilst at the archery club she was coaching a talented junior, Scott Jamieson, and when she was unable to take his coaching any further she moved to another club where the Senior Coach there was impressed to the fact that this young man was brought up to the standard of shooting for the county. He is now one of the sponsored archers that Rochford Archery are proud sponsor. He went on to win the ECAA County Championship of 2011. Annette is an Archery Leader, a Level 1 coach and has studied to Level 2 and now shoots a compound, in target archery. May 2011: Annette shot in the Mid Kent League with Fox Archers, Kent and became the top lady longbow archer, for 3 months, in the Mid Kent League, in her third round she scored a third, 1st class score. Annette hadn't picked up her longbow for at least 2 years! Go Girl!
